The following is from one of the blogs I follow. This message was in my inbox this morning and it's one of those things that you just want everyone to think about, especially with the new year approaching as we all try to make the new year better than the last. Sign up today for the daily tidbits of enlightenment; the address is in the bottom right corner of the picture.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
 We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
 our presence automatically liberates others.
 - Marianne Williamson

When you find your path, you must not be afraid.
You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes.
 Disappointment, defeat, and despair are
the tools God uses to show us the way.
 - Paulo Coelho

If a man is called to be a street sweeper,
he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted,
or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry.
He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts
of heaven and earth will pause to say,
here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.
 - Martin Luther King, Jr.
